Esmé Hicks

Esmé Hicks is an award-winning writer/director whose work spans narrative film, music videos, comedy, and documentary.

​

Her films explore quiet acts of defiance - characters who reclaim their bodies, their voices, and their agency in the face of loss, expectation, and threat.

​

Her debut short film The Old Woman and the Sea won Best Narrative Film at London Breeze Film Festival and was runner-up for Best Narrative and Best Director at Thunderdance Film Festival, screening at festivals including Women Over Fifty Film Festival.

​

As a producer, Esmé was Co-Producer of All My Friends Hate Me, which premiered at Tribeca Film Festival 2021 and screened at the BFI London Film Festival.
